1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account and accessing Nebula, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not register. These terms may be updated at any time; continued use of the game constitutes acceptance of any revised terms.
2. Beta Status
Nebula is currently in beta. The game may contain bugs, experience downtime, or undergo changes that reset player data, galaxy state, or account progress. We provide no guarantee of data permanence during the beta period. Participation is at your own risk.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to exploit, hack, or cheat the game systems
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other players
- Create multiple accounts to gain unfair advantage
- Use automated bots or scripts to interact with the game
- Impersonate other players, staff, or the Game Master
Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban without notice.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. One account per person is permitted. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms or are inactive for extended periods.
5. Privacy & Data Collection (GDPR)
We collect the following personal data to operate your account:
- Email address — used for account verification and essential game communications only
- Username, first name, last name — used for your in-game identity (first/last name optional)
- Discord username — optional, used for community linking only
- IP address — collected for abuse prevention and rate limiting only
- Game activity data — ships, planets, actions — stored to operate the game
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact the Game Master via the in-game feedback system.
6. We Do Not Sell or Share Your Data
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information — including your email address, name, or any account details — with any third party, advertiser, data broker, or analytics provider. Your data is used exclusively to operate Nebula and is never monetised or disclosed outside the game's technical infrastructure.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If your account is deleted — either by you or by us for a policy violation — all associated personal data is removed from our systems within 30 days. Game logs may be retained in anonymised form for statistical purposes.
8. Cookies & Session Data
Nebula uses session cookies strictly necessary to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookie services. Browser local storage is used to remember UI preferences such as dismissed alerts.
9. Intellectual Property
All game content, names, art, and systems are the property of the Nebula development team. You may not reproduce, copy, or distribute game content without written permission.
10. Limitation of Liability
Nebula is provided as-is. We are not liable for any loss of game progress, account data, or any indirect damages arising from use of the game. This game is a hobby project offered free of charge.
